Here is a quiz on some the abbreviation used on the railroad. Some are easy because they are common and familiar. Others are more difficult and may require some research. Some of them were used on waybills, in tariffs and station reports. Some were used by the Mechanical Department while others were used by the Operating Department and on employee timetables.
