The Q branch more or less followed the south bank of the Galena River and crossed it on the west end of Galena into the downtown business district. Even today if you know where to look you can find clues of where the ROW was located. I would suggest contacting the Galena HS as they have maps,photos,etc.

 

On the frt side one of the most carried products was coal into town.

The CB&Q served Galena, IL and (during the operation of busses from/to Galena Jct) terminated at the IC station there (at least per the Feb 1926 OFFICIAL GUIDE). Anyone have any info on the CB&Q branch into Galena? Did the CB&Q every offer passenger train service there?

Am looking for photos/maps, etc. especially pix of the busses). Anyone have leads?

Any information on this would be greatly appreciated.
