This probably has nothing whatever to do with it but 2455 that we started demolishing today had been painted silver too, she was a 1909 CA Mike Pannell From: GB <binder5295@windstream.net> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Monday, 3 September 2012, 10:21 Subject: [CBQ] CB&Q - UP run through cabooses for C-GI service... OK, in the late 1950's the UP painted several of their yellow cabooses silver (aluminum) for use east of Omaha on the joint Chicago - Grand Island - West Coast trains.
1) Are there any good sources for photos of the cabooses involved? 2) Were any CB&Q waycars painted in UP colors? 3) Does anyone know WHY this stipulation was in the agreement between the two railroads? 4) Did CB&Q waycars run through to Wyoming like some of the diesels did?
