That is true Chuck. Although I would have the NS and CSX get empties in position ready to come up and I would tell the TM to get me crews only to have him hem and haw so come the end of the parade I would start stacking empties on tracks 2 and 3 with the loads moving on 4 and 5 and the dinkys only had main 1 left to run on. I think more then once I had at least 4 to 5 empties waiting for the DSTM to get crews called. Course sometimes the A Stupid & Santa Fe would jump in and steal a crew for a pig train.
Between that and the clowns they moved into Suburban Services who knew nothing of what the job entailed is the reason I retired early. The best decision I ever made on the Railroad Steve in SC From: Chuck Hatler <gnhistory07@live.com> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com Sent: Fri, August 24, 2012 2:10:55 AM Subject: [CBQ] Re: Fwd: Fire Insurance Efficiency tests
Steve,
In your case, it was a two-way street. The crews knew they could
count on you, and most of the time, you could count on them.
I’d wander by your pod sometimes, and I don’t ever recall hearing yelling
like I did at some other pods.
