Ken

I hadn't "noticed" the windows on the car on page 68 when I looked at it.  I wonder if it is the same car.  (Although the "CB&Q" is a different size and the herald has gone by 1942)

Rupert,

This car appears similar to 210956 on page 68 which the title says is a CW modified for M/W service. However 210956 is not listed in the roster as modified from a CW, also it is not in Glicks passenger car roster.
I wonder if it was modified from one of the 14xxx cars before the 1904 renumbering.

On the subject of "waycar oddities", what about the waycar on page 72 (top right) of the "Burlington Waycars" book? Behind the wrecked locos is a clerestory-roofed car with a cupola, similar to a CW type waycar, but with 6 windows equally spaced along the side.  It appears to bear a six digit road number beginning with "2", the MoW numbering series from 1904 onwards.
