And don't forget C&S 254 at the Colorado Railroad Museum in Golden.  It wears the original Colorado & Southern Railroad Roman lettering on one side and modern Burlington Block Gothic lettering on the other.  The Spring 2011 issue of Classic Trains carried a one-page feature on the seven surviving Burlington RPO cars, plus a major feature on Denver-Billings trains 29-30, the "Night Crawler," on which the C&S baggage-RPOs were regulars.

Bryan,

It looks like a mate to the #1923 that is at the Illinois railway Museum and is fully restored. I didn't know that two of these cars survived. IRM has demonstrated simulated mail pick ups and drop offs with the 1923 occasionally during each year. For comparison, here is a link to the details and a photo of the 1923 at IRM.

I was out on Fremont, NE in May and took a ride on the Fremont & Elkhorn Valley RR.  One of the cars in their collection is an ex-CB&Q RPO, #1938.  It would be nice if the car was restored to its Q appearance and is currently unlettered.  Here is a photo of the car at the end of the line in Fremont.
