BNSF 6422 East, Squealing Around the Curve at Denrock on 7-14-2012
Set up at Denrock, Illinois on the BNSF Barstow subdivision to catch an ES44AC
pulling slowly around the big curve.
Decided to shoot this one with only two cameras and follow the train around to
show the extent of the curve. Might be better if the corn was lower. But the
corn makes for a nice ending, so I won't complain. I did edit out about two
minutes of hopper car sameness.
A Google map of the curve. http://goo.gl/maps/xphU Over a 90 degree change in
direction. This train was running from the top left of the map to the bottom
left. If you examine the map closely, you can see where two rail lines once
came together and crossed. I don't know much more of the history other than
