Randy,
I too received the Waycar book today. THANK YOU!
Ken, an excellent idea to put a dustjacket protector on it . Since my wife retired from the library I would have forgotten about doing that.
This book exceeds my wildest hopes. I consider myself something of a waycar expert, having been on a quest to assemble drawings, photos, etc. since the early 1960s. That quest lead me to meeting (by mail) Bernie Corbin and he introduced me to Joe Douda. Both living in the Chicago area we were able to get together over the years and developed a close friendship which included our wives. Joe would be proud of this book.
In the first two hours of skimming the book a bunch of things have turned up that I did not know about waycars. Randy certainly assembled most every possible photo of waycars that exist….as well as drawings and related areas of interest. And the human interest railroader stories add so much to the book.
This tome is going to provide many hours of enjoyable reading and will be a significant reference…in the same league as Corbin’s Steam Locomotives of the Burlington Route and Hol’s Colorado Road.

Look carefully at all the photos….there are some interesting gems in there that go well beyond the waycar subject matter!
