Thanks for the clarification. I was pretty sure that the SW1000s had MU, but had not thought about the SW1200s which, I believe, were delivered in 1965, about a year or so ahead of the SW1000s. I am actually surprised that the Q didn't retrofit more switchers to MU in later years. Knowing frugal Q, they probably couldn't justify the cost and didn't see the need.

In addition to the 9400 series NW2s converted from TR2s the last dozen SW1200s (9281-9292) and SW1000s 9310-9321 were equipped with MU. And, of course, the FW&D switchers assigned to Wichita Falls were retrofitted with MU in the mid-1960s for service on the Wichita Valley lines.
