The IC carried chickens into the early 60's out of west Tennesee and the MOP did too out of Arkansas and southwest Missouri. Most went to New York City to be killed in Kosher packing houses. The NYC and PRR got them at St. Louis or Chicago.

The shipping of live chickens died out in the thirties. The cars also carried an attendant to feed and water the chickens. He rode in the room in the center, then got a pullman ticket home.

Carloads of poultry orginated: 2,066,received in interchange 3,392 total handled 5,458 ! (These are live as fresh meats are listed seperately)
