Mark, What area of the C&S are you modeling? (I'm working on a small shelf layout, maybe more of a diorama, at Longmont) I have some track charts showing rail weights, north of Denver, that might be of some use in answering your question. I will say that I am using codes 70 and 55 as you describe. Code 100 is cheap and easy, but way oversize. Code 83 still is oversize but could be considered a reasonable compromise.
