I am just a 30 year member of the BRHS who from time to time writes articles and puts on clinics at the various meets. I have no office or title in the org. In my opinion for $30 a year it's a steal.

 

A couple back issues exceed the annual membership costs and the board has made recent decisions to put the pubs back on a regular schedule. What you may not know is membership comes with the annual calendar,2 Zephyr newsletters and 2 Bulletins(yes, they have been less than on schedule but again the board is working on that) and the ability to attend meets with clinics and presentations not available to non members.

 

I know for certain that there is enough material already written to supply the next 3 Bulletins and I think there is even more stuff in the works. I am writing this from my desk which is stacked with research material for another two Bulletins over and above the two already in the queue that I have already submitted. I know for a fact that there are at least 3 individuals who have more than 10 articles in the backlog for the Zephyr.  Keep in mind the members do all clinics and articles on a unpaid volunteer basis.

 

The BRHS is not a business but a group of folks dedicated to enhancing the knowledge of a now long gone classy company. It's the members contributions that make the distribution of the knowledge possible.

There is a membership level that donates far above the minimum dues in the interest of supporting that effort.

So what is the point of joing when you pay the same fee to own one as the membership itself?

I had read it somewhere that there have been severe delays between issues of the bulletin, so that would leave me to believe since 2 issues just came out that it may be quite some time before the next issue would come out. So would I pay for a years membership and don't get any publications???
