I used to see No 47 every day and never saw a hood unit or yellow cars. I think different equipment may have been used from St Louis to Galesburg. I am thinking it may have been a motor train part of the way. And then became a standard train further north which may have had the yellow cars.

I only remember passenger units on those trains and they ran behind my parents house while I was growing up in Canton, Illinois.
I think it was marked wrong but I may also be wrong. Could this picture be Farmington, Iowa? It was served by a mixed train in 1960.
