47 & 48 ran behind hood units at times near the end of their day. They also used the ex C&NW cars (still painted yellow) near the end. 47 & 48 came off in the early 60's. I only remember passenger units on those trains and they ran behind my parents house while I was growing up in Canton, Illinois.
I think it was marked wrong but I may also be wrong. Could this picture be Farmington, Iowa? It was served by a mixed train in 1960.
