have about the period post-Advanced Denver period.
I also have a February 'til Fall 1937 posting to
the St. Louis to Kansas City route before the later Ozark State Zephyr run (info
supplied by J.D. Christen and confirmed by 1984 BRHS calendar).

11 - Moved over NYC to Chicago
- October 12 - MTZ made its appearance on Burlington rails in
Chicago

13 - Test run from Chicago to the Twin Cities and back - 882 miles in 12
hours
- October 14 - MTZ was shortened by crews at
West Burlington by removing the baggage car to prepare it for the speed
trials planned in conjunction with the Republican Valley Jubilee at McCook,
Nebraska.
- October 22 - Reaching Creston in mid-afternoon, A
Western tour of Burlington Railroad directors and officers (see note 1),
other guests, (see note 2) as well as a bevy of press
representatives transferred from a steam-powered train to the Mark Twain
Zephyr

23rd - Speed trials where the 9903 reached a maximum speed of 122
m.p.h. for a distance of three miles between Edison & Oxford,
