I'll try one. I have ORER listings for the C&S from just about every year.
Here is July, 1958, with my comments on HO models:

100-103, 53'6" Flat, 4 cars. I know nothing about these cars, having never
seen a photo or diagram of them.

1000-1799, XM-32 Steel 40' Box, 782 cars. 1000-1249 built 1950; 1250-1499
built 1951; 1500-1799 built. Red Caboose made these in HO. They show up on
eBay from time to time, but do not bid on them as it drives up the price and
makes it harder for me to win them. :^) You can decal Intermountain,
Branchline or other 40' steel box cars for excellent models, too.

13500-13999, Single-sheathed composite box, 454 cars. Built in 1926.
Speedwitch made them in resin. Accurail makes a good stand-in, decorated for
the C&S (#4320), with the principal shortcoming being the use of ladders rather
than grabs.

15150-15249, Ballast, 93 cars. These were Hart selective ballast cars, built
in 1926. Nothing very close is available that I know of. I'm toying with the
idea of kitbashing one from an Accurail Canton hopper as a stand-in, but I'm
not at all sure how close it would be since I haven't seen a photo of one of
these cars.

16500-17499, Drop-bottom GS gondola, 839 cars. Built by Bettendorf in 1922. I
think they have been made in brass. There is nothing very close in plastic.
Red Caboose 35000-series GS gons could be used as a stand-in, but you'd have to
squint pretty hard. Still, in the absense of an accurate model, a stand-in is
needed for a reasonable roster.

18000-18299, USRA two-pocket hopper, 290 cars. Built in 1919. Tichy or
Accurail. Accurail makes them decorated for the C&S #2512, 25122, 25123; 2404
in original paint), and has done several numbers. Intermountain occasionally
makes them available in C&S paint from the Tichy model (available right now in
original paint #T452912)

19000-19019, ACF-design 1958-cuft covered hopper, 20 cars. Built in 1954.
Intermountain or Bowser. Q Connection had the Bowser model decorated for the
C&S, in both the original paint and the gothic. Intermountain has undec kits
that could be decalled.

21000-21049, 65'6" Gondola, 50 cars. Nothing accurate for the C&S out there
that I know of. Eastern Car Works, or the much better Athearn could be
stand-ins.

21500-21569, 52'6" Gondola, 70 cars. Proto2000 made great models decorated for
the C&S. Often on eBay.

50050-50249, Reefer, 3 cars. Again, Accurail is your friend. #4841 in
original paint. Silver Streak did a decent stand-in many years ago, but with
orange rather than yellow paint. Decals and some redetailing can make the
Accurail car outstanding.

I am new to the list,and ,I'm a huge C&S buff.I am in need of some help,I'm
trying to work towards building a C&S car fleet.I have modeled the narrow gauge
in the past, but, now have switched to standard gauge.I was hoping someone could
help with any rosters or car listings.Anything from the 1920's-1950's would be
a great help. Thanks, Mark McCoy tavwot@yahoo.com
