I've forwarded your email on to our online Yahoo group to see if anyone
there might be of some assistance.

To our knowledge no CB&Q personnel files were kept after the BN merger in
1970.  Some of our members could possibly assist you with general location
photos in and around Ottumwa, but I'll let you know, photos that old are not
very common.

If your Great Grandfather was a member of one of the railroad unions, they
may have information for you.

I am interested in locating information about my Great Grandfather. His name
was John Christy Dowell. He worked on the CB&Q as switchman in Ottumwa. On
March 10, 1913 he was killed there when he fell from the foot board and was
run over. No one in the family has any photos of him and I thought that
perhaps there might be an employee file or something with a photo. Any
information that yu can give would be greatly appreciated. I'm sure that
there must have been some sort of investigation or something into his death.
