Tom,
Be sure to make time to see the Twin Cities Model Railroad Museum at Bandana
Square in St. Paul. They have a very nice O scale model railroad among other
model railroads that depicts the St. Paul area and the railroad that ran into
the Twin Cities. They are open to the public and are located in the former
Northern Pacific back shop. Here is a link to their website.

Several years ago, when the BRHS held their annual meeting in the Twin Cities,
the Twin Cities model railroad was open to our group and made an excellent
presentation for us.
While you are in the Twin Cities, there are two other museums that you ought to
see. One is the Jackson Street Roundhouse which is owned and operated by the
Minnesota Transportation Museum. It is located in a former Great Northern
roundhouse and is primarily GN themed. Certainly worth the visit. Here is a

A third museum to visit is the Minnesota Streetcar Museum at Lake Harriet in
Minneapolis. They operate vintage Twin Cities streetcars on a little over a
mile of track along Lake Harriet on original right of way. Here is a link to
their website:

It is easily possible to visit all three in one day. I did just that last
October and had a great time. While I was at it, I also stopped by the
Minneapolis Junction
locomotive shop to check on progress of the rebuild of Milwaukee Road 4-8-4
#261. Very friendly group. Gave me a complete tour of the shop and the work
being done.
Sorry that I can't help with more model railroads. Have a great town. The twin
Cities has always been a great place to visit for me.
