The photo of the concrete mixer on the bridge construction site is neat
complete
with a Rodgers-Hart convertible gon behind it bringing in the sand and gravel.
Looks like the end was taken out to allow end unloading of a normal bottom or
side dump configuration.

Steve
I've come across numerous notes and articles about the Q's leadership in the
use
of reinforced concrete, including bridge road beds,
culverts and coaling stations. There's a nice piece at
http://babel.hathitrust.org/cgi/pt?u=1&num=515&seq=7&view=image&size=100&id=njp.32101048990152
regarding the construction of the Platte River bridge at Yutan and showing a
concrete mixer mounted on an FM-8 flat car.
