Gerald,

Well, not quite covered. O5B #5632 was painted gold twice. The first,
of course, was the commuter service centennial in May, 1964. The
second time was on Nov. 1, 1964 at Kansas City for the 50th
anniversary of the KC Union Station. A photo of that event can be
found on p. 122 of Spoor's Volume Three. It apparently pulled a fan
trip that day, but I don't know where. This had to be among it's last
trips before going to West Burlington for it's ill fated overhaul. I
don't know of any other equipment painted gold on that date. Does
anyone know where the excursion operated? The #5632 had previously
pulled excursions out of KC in 1960 in both May and October. These
excursions operated KC - St. Joe - Cameron - KC. The St. Joe -
Cameron - KC trackage is gone, today.
