If your talking 60's in general........lots of W/C were using reflective
paddles by this time although as Jonn said....lots of "coal"....he means "coal
oil"..(kerosene) markers were still in use in the early 60's...Some, if not
all, of the lightweight passenger cars still had marker brackets...It looked
kind of, shall we say "bizarre" to see a lightweight coach or
sleeper............or even a round end ob car with kersene
markers............but it did happen...If you look through some the "pictorial
color books you can find some examples.

Pete

Marker lights did not flash, as a matter of fact kerosene lamps were used on
non-electric equipped waycars until very late. Even NE-12's used "coal lights"
for a long time as did heavyweight passenger equipment.

HI All
I am looking at putting some marker lights on a couple of Way Cars but I am not
sure what was typical of the red light did it flash or burn steady. I have not
seen or heard of any discussion on this and I have no idea of what was
prototypical. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks Brad
