From: HOL WAGNER Yes, I made that statement, and it came from Q paint records that I viewed here in Denver but was not able to copy -- so I can't verify it again today. Hol Wagner -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [CBQ] Black Nose Stripes in 1961 Date: Sat, 26 Mar 2011 17:49:05 -0700 (PDT) From: Stephen Levine <sjl_prodigynet@yahoo.com <mailto:sjl_prodigynet@yahoo.com>> Reply-To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com <mailto:CBQ@yahoogroups.com> To: CBQ@yahoogroups.com <mailto:CBQ@yahoogroups.com> If I recall correctly, the statement was made that virtually all of the passenger diesels were repainted with red nose stripes by 1960. If I am wrong that this statement was made, please let me know. In any case, on page 46 of Michael J. Spoor's Chicago, Burlington & Quincy In Color, Volume I, there is a picture of 9985A in black nose stripes, captioned as leading train 10, the Denver Zephyr, into Aurora in May 1961. On the adjacent track is the Morning Twin Zephyr, led by an E7A with red nose stripes. sjl ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
