just got back from the library and we have three or four newspaper articles
and one report from some kind of a book but no pictures of the train or
poeple. I can copy these articles for you at .15 cents a page.

The tests were held in 1886 and 1887. I don't have exact dates but they lasted
most of each year ....probably mostly Spring, Summer and Fall but I think they
also tested in some cold weather so it might have been Feb-Nov or something
like that.
Thanks,

Are there any members located near Burlington IA?
I contacted The Burlington Hawkeye to see if they had any pre-1900 photos of
Burlington equipment. They advised me "Some are at the Burlington Public
Library also try the Des Moines County Historical Society".
Contacting the Burlington Public Library they said their colleciton is only
available for viewing at the library. No response to my inquiry if it was
cataloged.
I am especially looking for photos of the Dynamometer Z as used in the West
Burlington Air Brake Trials in 1886 and 1887.
Please contact me off-list if anyone can do some legwork to see what these
sources might have....
Thanks,
Charlie Vlk
