Bob: We delivered the Rock Island cars to a small yard just East of the depot
near what the Rock called "the malt house". Most of it was hoppers for the
Pabst Brewery at Peoria Heights. In the early 1980's when I worked at Peoria,
we had just taken over the Rock Island operations and the Rock island switchman
were given prior rights on the jobs that went up to the Pabst brewery.

Thanks so much for the response, Bud. Do you recall where you dropped cars for
the Rock Island? The reprint of interchange traffic from the BRHS showed closed
to 10,000 cars delivered to the Rock at Peoria in 1947 and nearly 7,000 cars in
1948. Any idea what the Q would transfer to the Rock in such quantity at Peoria?

Bob
