John, I found a Diesel Era magazine Nov/Dec2002 that is part 2 of a five part 
series they did onVO-1000's. According to them CB&Q had 30 units. The first one 
shown is black with "Everywhere West" slogan wrote on an angle right above two 
louvered door panels almost at the steps to the cab. All the pictures of all 
the VO's in all the 5 part series are in black and white photos. It looks to me 
like it may be white lettering and the photo shot is at a angle, but from what 
I can see of the harold under the cab window it looks white also, but if not 
white slogan and harold are the same color. look's like the road number mite be 
9132. This mag shows 5 more CB&Q VO pictures and how the paint schems advanced 
from the plain black to  grey and black to the red and grey the road numbers 
are 9350 9358 9363 9366 9370,...Maybe some of this mite help good luck..Steve

OK, most of my questions have been answered about the Baldwin VO-1000
on the Q. Now, I have most of the Q books, but does anyone know of a
color photo of any of the early switchers in the all-black scheme to
show the colors of the Q herald on the cab sides?
