Just a bit of info on the current BNSF situation. There is still a Congo Job (technically the House 8 Job CHC305) that's a night job out of Western Ave. It takes cars to the old sugar plant at Congress Park. Congress Park has been whittled down to basically two tracks for run around purposes and has no west end access to the mainline anymore. Also there are no more assigned jobs working the east end. Up until about a year ago there were two (4501 and 4502 with 4503 and 4504 being extra)but they are all xtra board jobs now. I worked the 4501 a couple summers ago for about a month with Bill "Rickets" Kiro and RV Williams. Bill had some hilarious stories about the "old breed" such as the often mentioned Jeep and Peanuts plus the Wissel (sp?) brothers. Yet another side note, the 4502 was populated by GR "Barney" Joseph, Daro Reppy, and Brandt Scott. (Barney and Brandt were/are some of the last CB&Q guys) While the 4501 was a quit job, those 4502 guys managed 12 and tow just about every night which is why those jobs are no longer assigned... :-) As an old head told our class when we first hired out, "I feel sorry for you young guys, cause for you, these are the good old days..." and how true it is...
