There was a "camp" at Savanna,IL. It was at the west end of the Q yard on the North side and just east of the Milw xing. Bob "Gabby" Watson pointed it out to me one summer night after we caught the w/c on an eastbounder at the west end. The campfire was glowing brightly. After looking at the notes in Bud Lintroths latest edition of the "Peavine" history, I have to wonder if it wasn't on the old C.B.& N. R-O-W. This would have been sometime in the early to mid 70's. Leo Phillipp Ps-The "Bo's" were also common in Cicero. One night I had the "xxxx" scared out of me by one as he came up behind me while I was walking our train in depature yard. He just wanted to know which train went to Galesburg. On another occasion we pulled one off a CH east of Savanna in far below zero temps and let him ride in the W/C to Cicero.
