Gerald-
I've always understood that the CB&Q flats (class at the moment not in my
memory, but the straight sill jobs that were used under the B29 housings,
for example) were built by the CB&Q to NP drawings.
Also heard that Havelock built some NP "economy" baggage car "kits" for the
NP and that the CB&Q cars were inspired by them.
The commonality of design between NP, CB&Q and GN equipment is a great
research project for somebody.... the Q T1 2-6-6-2s that were diverted from
the GN and had similar machines on the NP, tender designs (both roll-top and
coal pusher).... even some of the GN and NP steam looks very CB&Q-ish if you
take off the cab, headlight and other GN or NP fixtures.....
