I'm trying to find out more about three groups of flat cars that were leased to or from the NP by the CB&Q. My query relates to a) 7 cars from series 92000-92349 (FM-14) built in 1942 and leased to NP b) 10 cars from series 92400-92799 (FM-14A) built in 1952 and leased to NP c) 17 car leased from NP in 1964/5, renumbered to CB&Q 88500-88516 Judging by the ORER totals, it appears that the lease of groups (a) and (b) also took place in 1964, so I suspect that it was an "arranged swap", especially as 17 is an unusual number! Could they have been "leased" as compensation following a crash? Can anyone provide any information about the NP cars - they don't appear in the diagram books - or offer any other reasons for the exchange.
