The Robinson's Atlas of the City of Chicago provides virtually every siding in 1886 on the same site as previously referenced. You can find it and other historic maps at: http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/pages/700011.html It shows the connection to the Lumber District existing in 1886 (although at grade as the track elevation was some years in the future). A great resource to zoom in on and study.... shows the arrangement of Western Avenue Yard. The CB&Q branch up Crawford Avenue (then the western city limits) is shown going all the way up to Madison Street to serve the Chicago Driving Park and Fair Grounds. It also shows a couple of spurs into Douglas Park off the CB&Q. Robinson's Map of Chicago (entire) shows the same info but you have to zoom in to get a clear image.
