This area was referred to as the Lumber District with service provided out of 
Western Ave Yard.  This area still sees rail traffic with service provided by 
the Central Illinois Railroad on leased BNSF trackage.  The crew there is very 
friendly and repainted once of its SW9s into a CB&Q-inspired scheme in late 
2008.

While searching fr the history of the Bridgeport area of Chicago, I found 
reference to a area northwest of their called the "Lumber Area". Assuming there 
were lumber yards and mills there, did the CB&Q have access to that area? If 
so, was it serviced by the Western Ave. yards?
