Trains #29 & #30 (Denver/Billings) occasionally got SD-9's if they
were short of E-units, and so did #31 & #32 between Alliance and
Casper. I saw #30 at Fromberg, Mt. being pulled by a Blackbird SD-9
in the early 60's. There is a picture taken at Guernsey, Wyo. showing
an SD-9 pulling #31 in Corbins book 'The Burlington in Transition' -
page 167. Mike Spoor's book (Vol 4 or 5??) covering Missouri, Iowa &
Illinois has several excellent photos of GP-7's & GP-9's pulling
secondary passenger trains.
