This is truly sad news.  I remember talking with Ed at the first BRHS meet I 
went to when I was still in jr. high or high school.  He took the time to 
converse with a young fan and really appreciated it.  I didn't get a chance to 
talk to him at the last meet unfortunately.  He loved the Q and I'm glad he 
shared his memories and photos through society publications, Trains and Classic 
Trains, as well as his books.  

Thanks for everything, Ed.  You will be missed.

It is with a very heavy heart that I share the news that Ed DeRouin took a
rapid decline Wednesday and Thursday and passed away yesterday afternoon.
Arrangements have not yet been made, but I will share them with you as soon
as I hear.
