Coming out of a yard, like Congress Park, the control point
was the only signal that you could get. The best signal
available was lunar. Since it was dead straight track as
soon as you could see the signal at Brainerd you operated
on that signal. If there was a train between Congress Park
and Brainerd you would be able to see that in your block.
The pot on the other side would be either red or lunar
from the North Wye into the yard. The switch protected
the one power switch.
Yes, with fog or snow you might have to wait to get closer.
