The paint on the top panels can be removed on the CB&Q E-7, and you will find
that the stainless is underneath.
Took a chance and was pleased to find that out. At least the stainless is
correct now on my units.

Gordon,
Thanks for the information. That's exactly the type of feedback I was looking
for. Disappointing to hear of the errors in the painted versus plated panels
and the radiators. Such obvious errors seem hard to believe. Guess I'll wait
for the Walthers P2K version in February.

Scott...I have 4 of the new Blueline E7s. First thing is that they only come
as DC units with sound. No dual mode DCC decoders as the earlier Es did. As
far as I am concerned these units are a big dissapointment. The sound is no
more like an EMD 567 than the earlier units. The Paragon F3s have the best
prime mover sound. Back to the Blueline E7s...the plating is good, but here
is the big mistake. They PAINTED the top panels below the roof silver. They
admit they knew this but ran them anyway. The second big mess up is the
rooftop radiators. They are covered with CHICKEN WIRE. I cannot believe they
did this after doind previous runs with the proper radiators. And as usual
the wrong pilot casting was used again. I don't know how many times I called
them and told them on previuus runs of all the E units this. At least they
got the wright one on the F3s. All in all, a BIG dissapointment, And I
posted a message to that opinion on BLI's H O forum.
