Errors corrected below: The SW7s were built in 07/50 bn# 9718-9725 rn#9261-9268 The SW9s were built in 08/51 bn#13212-13213 rn#9269-9270 The SW1200s were built in 09-10/55 bn#20543-20551 rn#9271-9280 and 06-07/65 bn#30533-30544 rn#9281-9291 It is likely that the purchases were not predicated on the evolvolution of the NW/SW model but rather the need for units. The use of the units was pretty well common regardless of the model.... the earliest units worked alongside the newest ones at Clyde as far as I remember. Perhaps some of the 1965 units replaced some of the Baldwins and earlier EMDs.... one would have to check retirement dates to see if there is any corelation with the purchase of the last batch.
