In 1969 the CB&Q repainted rebuilt and cars requiring repainting in a pre-merger Cascade green scheme. Kevin's Decals used to produce decal sets for 40' box cars and gondolas, but these are no longer produced or available. Examples of some rebuilt/repainted 40' and 50' box cars are: http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=37575 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=4168 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=37595 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1780149 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1381639 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1489775 http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1363499 and with smaller roadname http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=1396496 My initial research indicates that after the BN merger in 1970, around 15% of the CB&Q's XM-32 family of box cars wore this scheme. Around 13% of all remaining 40' box cars in CB&Q paint reflected in the April 1977 Official Railway Equipment Register still wore this scheme. New cars were also delivered in this scheme in 1969; some with smaller lettering such as the following: http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=38570 http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=38573 I've searched the archives and Internet without success, but does anyone know if HO scale decals are available from any source to do the 1969 pre-merger Cascade Green scheme? I suspect there's a demand for such decals (based on my need for a small number) and wonder what other late era CB&Q HO scale modellers think. Thanks for any advice.
