As I was looking at the Officer Down Memorial Page website, I discovered this 
intersting piece of CB&Q history:

Officer Down Memorial Page is a website that lists police officer's who have 
died in the performance of of their duty.  I was surprised to see a listing for 
a CB&Q police officer since the department was changed at the merger over 35 
years ago.
