there is one at the Minnesota Transportation Museum under cover. i do not
believe there has been an attempt to recondition it and do not know of it's
present condition.--jim young

List,
This thread, and the pictures of 9769, brought a few questions to my mind.
I see a roster of the CB&Q motorcars on the Burlington Route HS, but did
any survive and are on display?
Was there any extensive coverage of motorcars in any Burlington Bulletin?
If yes, are back issues available? If no, is a BB in the works?
The picture of 9769 shows a large box above the cab. What is it? (I assume
that the grill above the windows is for the radiator.)
Also 9769 has a rear cab. Is this common for CB&Q motorcars?
Finally, I've often seen motorcars referred to as "doodlebugs." Is this
common within the CB&Q?
Thanks in advance!

I think I remember seeing a doodlebug in the weeds behind a chain-link
fence at Centerville MANY years ago. Sure wish I had taken a picture of
it. Might have been 9769.
Seems to have been west of the depot somewhere. Was nosed up to the
fence... couldn't see much else due to the weeds.
