I assume that it is the P2K version?  If so, it looks pretty good.  I've been
doing research on the SW12s as well to detail mine.  Here is what I've come up
with:

-It looks like the all-weather windows were only on the engineer side.  I'll
check Holck's books when I get home to double check.
-Antenna used depends on the unit.  I've seen pictures with either a firecraker
or a wagon wheel, which is the the round structure you noted on the forward
part of the unit.
-I don't believe the Q used beacons on their units.  I think that was a BN
thing.

CBQ 9280 became BN 238 and then went on to become BNSF 3507.  It is no longer
listed on the roster and I do not know if it was scrapped or sold when retired
from the BNSF roster.

Group-

I just aquired a CBQ SW12 in HO gauge, can somebody help me out with a few
detailing points? I've only been able to find a couple photos and they have
answered a little.

-Were there all weather windows on both sides of the cab?
-What type of antenna was used?  I've spotted firecracker antennas on some
switchers...
-What is the round structure on top of the long hood between the vents?  Is
that the antenna?
-Beacon light?

I'm also curious to find out if the unit, 9280, survived into the BNSF system
and what it was renumbered.

Thanks,
Ryan Gash
