Am I mistaken or what? I thought the P&O was the early railroad that built the
segment between Burlington and Galesburg which the CB&Q finally acquired in
1862 after lengthy court battles. Archie

The Peoria and Oquawka was a predecessor of the TP&W. ATSF acquired the TP&W
in the late 1970s, only to be sold off again as an independent railroad in the
1989. Since ATSF divested itself of TP&W's trackage and the TP&W reconstituted
itself as a separate road before the 1995 merger, I'm not sure the TP&W and
it's predecessors would quality as a BNSF heritage railroad?

Peoria and Oquawka.
