Just received the book (Phil - second photo in the book is LOCH SLOY).
I takes up after Volume I and basically goes through late 1959 /
early 1960. It provides a lot of data and answers a lot of
questions. Some errors exist, but mostly in terms of the layout &
editing (the table of contents misspells "Vista Dome" (an obvious
typo); the CZ photos of some cars are actually of those cars in RGZ
service, and they had been modified).
It supplies more consists for all Q trains in the 1948 - 1959
period. And some interesting photos (double baggage cars on the CZ,
double CZ obs) and some interesting consists (an Exposition Flyer
with a dome obs on it - which hitherto had been considered something
that didn't happen - that the "signature" cars were held out of the
Expo and started on the CZ with their only exposure being on the
pre-run display trains).
Good stuff on the mail trains, and it explains some of the confusion
with the Coloradoan and some mail trains. Definitely worth the price...
