[CBQ] Automatic Train Control Box/Mars Lights

I seem to remember that the automatic train control boxes and the Mars  
lights on the remaining steam locomotives were install after 1950.  1951  seems 
to 
ring a bell.  Does anyone out there have the exact year they  started 
installing them?
