Hi Tom,

During the great Mississippi flood of 1965, the Q between LaCrosse 
and St Paul, went under first and its trains ran on the Milwaukee 
until it also went under and then both roads used the CNW and Soo 
Line for detour routes.  When waters receded the Milw was back in 
service sooner and the Q trains detoured on the Milwaukee until its 
route was back in service.

Does someone know which of the river lines went out first between 
Savanna and Lax in 1965?  I know the Milw Iowa division laid new 
track atop the Q diamond at Savanna tower to keep running a while longer.
