Subject: [CBQ] Automobile boxcar
Hi,
Years ago I was presented LifeLike's model of Q 50' end door
boxcar # 48585 (printed-on built date 3-41). Mike Spoor's Color Guide does
not mention a car series where this car does fit in
however, so I am asking if anyone can shed a light on the history of this car
and if it eventually was renumbered like the
XA-15A's. And last but not least if it still was in revenue service
in the 60'ies. Curious also is the printed-on note: ''Do not load this car
with lime, soda-ash,.......or any commodity that will render it unfit for flour
or grain loading" !!
