In regards to DCC systems, it depends on what size of layout - small, 
medium, large.  For instance, will a starter set work or do you require 
a system with a booster and more than one throttle.  My suggestion 
would be to try different systems out if possible.  I use the NCE 
system.  For me, this system is very user friendly.
