Many times on TZ's. One time, when Mississippi was in flood stage c1949, we
left East Dubuque at the time we were supposed to be arriving in Chicago.
Someway or another, train made up nearly 25 minutes. Very interesting ride.

Many times on 26 and 32. If you were in the vestibule of the last car, you
knew you were getting a ride. In fact coming around then curve at the West
end of Oregon could be exciting at 75. I always thought those curves were
carded 5 or 10 MPH too high. Ken McCausland , a GN dining car steward, said
they were the only point on the whole Chicago/Seattle route where you had to
be aware of your location, especially the small curve before the bridge.
