   Lyle,

I checked my '71, '72, and '73 BN annuals, the '71 has a paint diagram 
for a switcher but not the hockey stick. There is a note on it that says 
"All decks to be painted with J.W. Martell non-skid extra rough floor 
black".

The '73 Annual has an article on the U23C/U30C/U33C but there is no 
picture that shows the hockey stick well enough to see the walkway.
