You refer to "respots" which I understand, but think the proper term is
"INTRA plant" switching...That is indeed an additional charge.....I don't know
whether there would be an additional charge to, for example, put a "part load"
back to its original spot when a load behind that car necessitated it being
pulled out and put back to complete the loading.
I would think the main advantage would be "call it convenience"...the
industry could get it's intraplant moves made at its convenience rather than
the
carrier's "whenever we get to it" schedule.
