A private car owner at Stockton, MN has his own
switcher(small 2-axle critter) to move his car out and
in the pole barn, because the DM&E would charge him
$200.00 for each move. That adds up fast. He has
family and friends onboard several times a month. If
weather is nice(picnic, BBQ, etc) he likes the car
outside. Thw "cute" switcher is smaller than a VW
bus. Industry/plant switchers can be small or large
depending on size or quantity of cars to be moved and
how oftem. Whirlpool in St. Paul back in the 60's
used a fork lift to move cars around the complex (one
at a time). More than one car, C&NW did the job with
a cow/calf set.
